A Great Day For Italy!

As if to further prove that e-cigs are now big business rather than a cottage industry, if you were eagle-eyed you may have noticed a pitch-long advert which appeared repeatedly on animated hoardings during today's Six Nations Italy v France match.

Click to enlarge and look for the simple message "Fumare Digitale - Smokie's"This is their website.

Try as anti-smokers might to appease their pharma masters by producing junk science and outrageous lies, e-cigs continue to gain global recognition. If not for the tobacco control industry's corrupt chums at the EU, these clever little devices would be set to stomp all over the nicotine market like Andy Ripley running at a full back from St Stephens' Elementary second XV in 1972.

Forza Smokie's, I say, and congratulazioni!.

UPDATE An excellent article at the ECITA blog describes how this global phenomenon is now going pleasantly viral. Do go have a read.

Closer to home, Blackburn Rovers have a 92m long Totally Wicked advertising hoarding running the full length of one stand along with several smaller ones around the ground - I'll bing you some pictures if you like.

Yes please. :)

Sent and I'm a little wrong, the long one is, I think, actually at Burnley, not Blackburn. Definitely some at each.

There is serious money behind Smokie's. Just look at the number of stores they have considering they started only in 2010.

Dick / Steve - I did a recent blog post on the Burnley (Turf Moor) one. Apparently one of the stands is sponsored by an ecig company, yet you are not allowed to smoke them anywhere on the site or you would get thrown out.

That's almost enough to get me to go to Turf Moor to test it out (only almost).
Idiots abound everywhere mate.

Fucking po-faced prats. They just can't bear the thought of anyone "circumventing the ban". Perish the thought that someone should be able to enjoy vaping while they watch the footy.

I wonder how they justify the paradox of banning the use of something that they are taking money to advertise? Perhaps someone should ask them.

Do Pubs in the U.K still have fag machines?

So you did, I'd forgotten about that. You should have posted the link. ;)

Done a bit of digging and whoever has given you that gem, Moose, is talking out of their arse.
They are selling disposable, Burnley branded e-cigs on match days and have POS stands non all the bars with re-usables, disposables and cigars. Rumour has it there's soon to ba a 500+ strong 'vape in' during an upcoming match and the club are full square behind it. Player of the year will also be TW sponsored this year.
Dick, I'll provide some further details via email when I get them.
On the rugby front, look out for some bits at upcoming St Helens matches.

Steve - Maybe he was mistaken. Maybe the rules have changed. I know he is not prone to talking bollocks or having flights of fancy, that's why I commented without digging myself first.
I'll let him know what you've come up with
